Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Road map handles information for the school bus platform, including the parent app and the driver app.

Legal owner and operator

Road map is owned and operated by TIKNULUJIYA HIBA COMPANY FOR PETROLEUM SERVICES. References to "Road map", "we", "us", or "our" in this Privacy Policy mean the Road map platform owner and operator.

Information we collect

For the parent app, we may collect account details such as name, phone number, school, student information, route assignment, pickup and drop-off details, messages, and notification preferences.

For the driver app, we may collect account details such as name, phone number, assigned vehicle, assigned route, trip status updates, attendance actions, and location information while the driver is using the app for active school transport operations.

Location data

Road map uses location data to show bus position, trip progress, estimated arrival times, route status, and safety-related updates to schools and parents.

Background location starts only for the driver app after the driver signs in, allows the required location permission, and starts or joins an active assigned school bus trip. It is used while the trip is active so the school and authorized parents can see the bus route and estimated arrival.

Background location stops when the driver ends the trip, logs out, disables location permission, or the app is no longer assigned to an active trip. Location tracking is used for school transport operations only and is not used to track drivers outside active school transport work.

Notifications and Firebase

Road map uses push notifications, including Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), to send trip updates, boarding and drop-off alerts, delay notices, emergency notifications, account messages, and service-related updates.

To deliver notifications, the app may collect and store a Firebase FCM registration token linked to the user device. This token is used only to send notifications for the Road map service and may be removed or replaced when the user logs out or the token changes.

How we use information

We use information to operate school bus tracking, manage users and routes, send Firebase and in-app notifications, support drivers, improve trip visibility, respond to support requests, and protect student safety.

We do not sell personal information.

Sharing of information

Information may be shared with the relevant school, authorized transport administrators, parents or guardians connected to a student, assigned drivers, and service providers that help us operate hosting, notifications, analytics, support, or security.

We may disclose information when required by law or to protect users, students, schools, or the service.

Children and student data

The service supports school transport operations involving students. Student information is handled only for transport management, safety, attendance, routing, and communication with authorized parents or guardians and school administrators.

Data retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain operational records.

Users or schools may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by contacting us. Some records may be retained where required for legal, safety, security, or legitimate operational reasons.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect data against unauthorized access and misuse.
